Bayside Health was formed following the merger of Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health, Gippsland Southern Health Service, Kooweerup Regional Health Service and Peninsula Health on 1 January 2026.

 

 

The Team & Role

 

The Department of Rehabilitation at Peninsula Care Group is a well-supported and growing unit focused on providing a comprehensive and coordinated range of services/care to patients with a wide range of needs. Inpatient services include 40 beds at the Golf Links road site, 15 beds at Rosebud Hospital, 10 admitted beds in At home Subacute program, and an in-reach acute rehabilitation program at Peninsula University Hospital (Frankston).

 

We are offering Rehabilitation Registrar training positions accredited with the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine (AFRM) at Bayside Health Peninsula Care Group. These positions are based out of Golf Links Road and Rosebud Hospital. All registrars participate in on-call shifts.  We will consider both 1 year and 2 year contracts for those candidates interested in continuing their training with us.

 

Peninsula Care Group is committed to encouraging and fostering an environment of continued learning and skill development. Trainees are ensured protected training time and are provided with a tutorial education program. They are encouraged to attend local/National conferences and workshops. In addition, they are required to participate in a monthly Journal Club, weekly grand rounds, monthly clinical meetings and extra training sessions. There is also an opportunity to participate in teaching medical students, perform audits and undertake research.

Skills & Experience Required

We anticipate you will have: 

  • MBBS degree (or equivalent)
  • Eligible for registration with AHPRA as a medical practitioner
  • Have a minimum of 2 years postgraduate training
  • Have joined or otherwise eligible to join the AFRM training program
  • Sound clinical knowledge, skills and experience in contemporary medical and evidence based practice
  • Ability to work as an effective member of an inter disciplinary team
