The Team & Role
The Peninsula Health Community Care Unit [CCU] located in Spray Street Frankston provides 24-hour residential care with a focus on individualised mental health recovery. This occurs within a multi-disciplinary team working alongside each resident throughout this stage of their personal recovery journey.
The incumbent will have a demonstrated understanding of recovery and will apply: the model in practice. Relevant knowledge and demonstrated skills in managing safety, mental state assessment, care planning and with capability to provide responsive direct care and evidence based interventions to support clients participating in the program to engage in self-management are key requirements.
The Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) will be responsible for day to day clinical shift leadership and responsible for ensuring roles are delegated, care planning and care delivery is collaboratively undertaken and issues escalated as indicated. The ANUM will be the primary allocated mental health clinician to a case load of clients at CCU and work closely with the secondary mental health clinicians to provide a concise and supportive framework of care.

Skills & Experience Required
- Condition free current AHPRA Nursing Registration
- Post Graduate qualification in mental health nursing or training
- Proven ability in the management of clients with a major mental illness and in the techniques of assessment, crisis intervention, counselling and psychosocial rehabilitation
- Experience in the mental health field including acute inpatient services and/or community mental health care
- Experience leading a team
- Demonstrated working knowledge and understanding of the Victorian Mental Health Act
