Bayside Health was formed following the merger of Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health, Gippsland Southern Health Service, Kooweerup Regional Health Service and Peninsula Health on 1 January 2026.
The Team & Role
Carinya is a 26-bed purpose built Aged Persons Mental Health residential Care Facility designed to provide high level specialist nursing care to residents with complex mental health diagnoses or changed behaviours associated with dementia, who are unable to be managed effectively in a generic aged care facility.
The Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) is a valued and integral member of the Peninsula Health multidisciplinary team demonstrating flexibility in caring for residents and their families. The ANUM leads competently ensuring RNs and EENs are within their scope of practice to deliver safe, evidence-based person-centred care to achieve optimal health outcomes for older people. They work in collaboration with Nurse Unit Manager to manage day to day running of the Home and cover the NUM when not around

Skills & Experience Required
Essential Criteria

Bachelor in Nursing with current AHPRA registration

Leadership experience in working with Older Adults in Aged Care /Mental Health settings

Demonstrated Understanding of the Aged Care Act and Strengthened Aged Care Standards

Exceptional Communication and Organisational Skills
