The Team & Role 

The Food Monitor will operate as part of the broader Food Services team and will assist the relevant Support Services Supervisor in providing and maintaining a safe and effective food delivery service for all of patients and residents. This role will act as an ambassador for the Food Services Department and will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills when engaging with patients/residents at the bedside; for the purpose of meal selection.

 

The primary function of this role is to obtain appropriate meal requirements of patients using an electronic menu management system, providing relevant information (tally’s and other relevant reports) required for the accurate provision of patient/resident meals.

Skills & Experience Required 

 

Essential:

  • Basic Food Handling Certification Level 1 or higher
  • Basic computer skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritise tasks
  • Ability to applies risk management strategies to ensure service deliverables are not compromised
  • Working with Children Check Required (WWCC)

 

Desirable:

  • Previous experience as a menu Monitor in a similar Health setting
  • Experience with Electronic Menu Management Systems
  • Basic understanding of Diet Codes and Food Allergies
  • Able to work across all sites as required
