What You Will Be Doing
Senior Occupational Therapists for the acute and subacute inpatient services are responsible for providing clinical leadership and operational management of the Occupational Therapy service across the acute, subacute and palliative care wards. The caseloads include but are not limited to, neurology, orthopaedics, geriatric evaluation and management, palliative care, oncology, general medical and surgical streams.
The inpatient teams comprise Senior Occupational Therapists, Grade 2 and Grade 1 Occupational therapists and allied health assistants. This position may also provide professional governance support to Diversional Therapy Staff.

What You Need
We anticipate you will have:
• Registration with Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (Via AHPRA)
• Extensive experience as an Occupational Therapist in the inpatient subacute/acute setting with sound understanding of inpatient and aged care issues and processes.
• Demonstrated experience with operational management.
• Demonstrated experience in clinical leadership and supervision of inpatient Occupational Therapy staff and students to promote professional competence and foster individual development.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate and participate in quality improvement and evidence based practice activities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation, conflict resolution and problem solving.
• Commitment to own professional development and the professional development of others.
• Demonstrated understanding and experience in staff selection and recruitment and performance management.
• Current Victorian Driver’s Licence

*Please refer to salary circular for Allied Health Professionals (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2021 – 2026 for salary range. Sub-grading will be based on years of experience.
