The Team & Role
The Cardiologist will provide high-quality specialist cardiac care across inpatient, outpatient, and diagnostic services. The role includes conducting general cardiology clinics, providing a general cardiology ward service, assessing and managing patients with a broad range of cardiovascular conditions, and delivering evidence-based treatment recommendations.
Key responsibilities include the independent performance and reporting of echocardiograms (Echocardiography), ensuring accurate interpretation and timely communication of results to referring clinicians and patients. The Cardiologist will also provide inpatient consultations and ongoing management of patients admitted under the cardiology service or referred for specialist cardiovascular assessment.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, contribute to clinical governance and quality improvement activities, maintain accurate clinical documentation, and support excellent patient outcomes through high standards of clinical practice.

Skills and Experience Required
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent specialist qualification in Cardiology.
- Demonstrated experience in general cardiology outpatient services, inpatient cardiology care, and echocardiography reporting.
- Eligibility for specialist registration with the relevant medical regulatory authority
Desirable:
- Fellowship training in Cardiac Imaging (Echocardiography) is highly desirable.
- Qualification and experience in reporting CT Coronary Angiography (CTCA) and Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging (Cardiac MRI) would be highly regarded.
- Demonstrated ability to provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient general cardiology services.
- Experience in non-invasive cardiac imaging services and multidisciplinary cardiac care.
