Bayside Health was formed following the merger of Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health, Gippsland Southern Health Service, Kooweerup Regional Health Service and Peninsula Health on 1 January 2026.
The Team & Role
Changing Ways is delivered by Bayside Health – Peninsula Care Group in partnership with Good Shepherd, supporting a coordinated response to reducing family violence and improving safety for women and children. The program works with men who use violence and have co‑occurring mental health and/or AOD issues, using a holistic and collaborative approach.
This role is open to qualified Social Workers and Community Development Workers. You will provide case management and therapeutic interventions for a targeted caseload, including risk assessment, safety planning, MARAM assessments, information sharing and referral coordination. The role also includes post‑participation support, documentation, quality activities and close collaboration with internal and external partners.
Depending on the appointment, responsibilities may include clinical or student supervision. Flexible working hours may be required.

Skills & Experience Required
Social Worker
- Social Work qualification. Qualifications must align with the Mandatory Minimum Qualification
- Requirements for Specialist Family Violence Practitioner (Recommendation 209)
- Eligibility for full membership with the AASW.
- Extensive experience working with male perpetrators who use violence
- Experience in direct specialist family violence services
- Demonstrated skills and strong clinical experience in assertive outreach, risk assessment and safety planning, case management and evidence-informed family violence interventions.
Community Development Worker
- Relevant qualification in Social Sciences or related fields. Qualifications must align with the Mandatory Minimum Qualification Requirements for Specialist Family Violence Practitioner (Recommendation 209) at the time of application
- Extensive experience working with male perpetrators who use violence
- Experience in direct specialist family violence services
