On 1st January 2026, five health services (Kooweerup Regional Health Service, Peninsula Health, Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service) will come together to create Bayside Health; a newly merged health service with more than 22,000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians.
The new health service will provide people with the best possible care with services that support them throughout their lives. The merger will also strengthen our workforce, providing new training, education and career opportunities. Subject to final approval on 1st January 2026, all employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health.
The Team & Role
We have two exciting psychology positions available for a Clinical Psychologist or Clinical Psychology Registrar to join out inpatient psychology team. Both positions will be supported to gain experience working with adult and older adult persons, as well as experience working across different areas of the health service, including inpatient rehabilitation, Geriatric and Evaluation Management (GEM) and acute medical and surgery. Both roles will work under the guidance of a senior clinician working with people with psychological difficulties that are impacting on their recovery and/or discharge planning.
For both roles the focus is on completing psychological assessments and brief interventions to assist consumers with maximising their independence, function and participation in therapy. Common psychological presentations include grief and adjustment due to changed functional abilities, anxiety and/or fear that impact on engagement in other therapies (e.g., fear of failing, pain, falling, eating) and trauma related to medical illness and/or their hospital stay

Skills & Experience Required
- Masters or Doctoral qualification in Clinical Psychology
- Hold current general registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA
- Eligible to work toward an Area of Practise Endorsement in Clinical Psychology or Clinical Neuropsychology
- Placement experience or special interest in an inpatient or rehabilitation setting is desired
- A valid Victorian driver’s licence
- Previous experience or special interest in health psychology and physical rehabilitation is desired
