What You Will Be Doing
This position sits within Peninsula Health's Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Program and is based at the Tarnbuk Centre.
This role provides services across Peninsula Health's catchment of the Frankston and Mornington Peninsula. The position involves supporting clients accessing the Older Wiser Lifestyles (OWL) program. OWL is a multidiscilinary team that was establised in a response to an identified AOD service gap for older adults and is the first program of its type in Australian to provide older adult-specific AOD treatment for 65+.
Working within their scope of practice, this position is responsible for couselling and outreach supporting people, holistically witin a harm reduction framework, to achieve identififed goals and improve quality of life.
What You Need
We anticipate you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications (or working toward) appropriate to the position such as social work or counselling.
- Certificate IV, or Diploma in Alcohol and Other Drugs or Postgraduate course in Addiction with minimum qualification of the Alcohol and Other Drug Skill set core competencies:
- CHCAOD001 Work in an alcohol and other drugs context,
- CHCAOD004 Assess needs of clients with alcohol and other drugs issues,
- CHCCAOD006 Provide interventions for people with alcohol and other drugs issues, and
- CHCAOD009 Develop and review individual alcohol and other drugs treatment plans
