Classification: Registrar Year 1 – Registrar Yr 6 (HM25 – HM30)

 

On 1 January 2026 five health services (Kooweerup Regional Health Service, Peninsula Health, Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service) will come together to create Bayside Health. A newly merged health service with more than 22,000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians.

 

The new health service will provide people with the best possible care with services that support them throughout their lives. The merger will also strengthen our workforce, providing new training, education and career opportunities. Subject to final approval on 1 January 2026, all employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health.

What You Will Be Doing 

 

The Rehabilitation, Aged Care, Persistent Pain and Palliative Care service at Peninsula Health has a Relieving Registrar Positions available in 2026 for suitably qualified Registrars.

 

The successful Relieving Registrars will have a unique opportunity to work across all subacute departments whilst covering planned leave in Rehabilitation (Golf Links Road, Frankston and Rosebud Hillview unit); Aged Care (Acute Care of the Elderly and Orthogeriatrics, Frankston Hospital, The Mornington Centre (TMC)); Palliative Care (Frankston and Golf Links Road); and the At home subacute program.

 

Peninsula Health is committed to encouraging and fostering an environment of continued learning and skill development. Trainees are ensured protected training time. The Relieving Registrar will join the Accredited Aged Care, Rehabilitation and Palliative Care Registrars in weekly Consultant teaching, fortnightly Journal Club, weekly grand rounds, monthly radiology meetings and monthly education sessions.

 

All registrars participate in occasional weekend shifts at TMC or GLR but with a minimum 3 days break per fortnight in keeping with the EBA. Protected training time is included in the roster as per the current EBA.

What You Need

 

  • AHPRA registration as a Medical Practitioner
  • Relevant experience as a Medical Practitioner - minimum of 2 years postgraduate training
  • Have joined or otherwise eligible to join the RACP training program
  • Completion of Clover Clinical systems training at commencement of employment     
  • Ability to work as an effective member of an interdisciplinary team
  • Sound clinical knowledge, skills and experience in contemporary medical and evidence based practice
