The Team & Role
This role is based at Peninsula University Hospital and Frankston Public Surgical. PGY3+ placement is designed to provide appropriate exposure and experience to enable the junior doctor to consolidate their learning from their PGY2 year and attain the required skills and knowledge relevant for each rotation. Skills progression should assist the PGY3+ to meet the entry requirements for specialist training programs.
Under the direction of more experienced medical staff, primarily registrars, and through collaboration with other health professionals, the resident provides effective appropriate medical care commensurate with their capabilities and in accordance with delegated clinical privileges that vary from site to site.
Successful applicants will be allocated to rotations in the following positions based on their area of interest.
- General Surgery
- Vascular Surgery
- Orthopaedics
- ICU
- Plastic Surgery
- Urology
Successful applicants will need to participate in rotating rosters including periods of nights cover and relief.

Skills & Experience Required
- MBBS or equivalent
- Previous experience in Surgery
- Must hold current General registration with AHPRA as a Medical Practitioner
