The Team & Role 

This clinical role sits within the suite of services provided by Bayside Health’s (BH) AOD Program and is based at the Tarnbuk Centre, however may be required to work across all sites to meet demand. Working in intake, you will be responsible for intake triage to identify a person’s need for and prioritise their referral to specialist alcohol and other drug treatment services, and other services as required, via face-to-face, telephone, online, and outreach modalities. As appropriate, you will also provide brief interventions and bridging support. This will include handling calls to/from a range of different people including professionals, families and other members of the community.

Skills & Experience Required 

• Tertiary qualifications (or working toward) in relevant helping professions and completion of AOD Core Competencies (skill set)
• Alcohol and Drug specific qualification (minimum cert. IV)
• Comprehensive understanding of harm reduction principles and practice.
• Demonstrated experience working with at-risk and vulnerable people with dual diagnosis.
• Demonstrated experience in working both independently and as a part of a multi-disciplinary team, with the ability to work effectively, supportively and flexibly.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing tasks and effectively prioritise.
• Well developed written, verbal, interpersonal and computer literacy and communication skills.
• Demonstrated risk management and safety planning skills and a comprehensive understanding of the Child Information Sharing Scheme, the Family Violence Information Sharing Scheme and MARAM – Multi Agency Risk Assessment and Management Framework.
