Who We Are and What We Stand For
Peninsula Health is the major metropolitan health service caring for a community of 300,000 people. Our Vision is to provide exceptional health and community care. To realise this vision we need people who strive for a sense of achievement, take an interest in their individual growth, enjoy innovation and looking for ways to improve and have a passion for communicating and connecting with others.

The Mental Health and Wellbeing Local
The Frankston Local operates six days a week, with extended operating hours to support a flexible and responsive service. The Local Service model provides an integrated treatment, care and wellbeing support response for participants experiencing a mental health challenge and co-occurring substance use or addiction and their family members or carers. This approach improves the capacity of individuals to engage in our community and respond to any future psychological distress.

What You Will Be Doing
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) will work both independently and collaboratively in an advanced, expanded scope of practice within the Frankston Mental Health and Wellbeing Local.

In this role, the NP will deliver comprehensive clinical care, with a strong focus on specialist Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) screening, assessment, treatment, and referral—including pharmacotherapy—within a dual diagnosis framework that recognises the close relationship between mental health and substance use.

The NP will provide both primary and secondary consultations, offer clinical leadership, and play a key role in building capacity across the AOD and mental health sectors. This includes supporting service development, guiding clinical practice, and contributing to the training and mentoring of staff within the consortium. The NP will deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to support clinical assessments, medical management, and supervision of participants seeking to reduce, stabilise, or cease problematic alcohol or drug use, always addressing any co-occurring or underlying mental health conditions.
