What You Will Be Doing
The Frankston Hospital Occupational Therapy (OT) and Physiotherapy (PT) departments provide service to inpatients and outpatients, with a team of approximately 40 therapists and assistants. The Allied Health Receptionist provides reception and administrative support to the Frankston Hospital OT and PT team, facilitates effective communication between the staff and consumers and provides a positive profile for the teams. The Reception staff ensure effective functioning of the reception and assist the therapists in all administrative aspects of the area as required, including liaison with other departments as required. The reception area is a central contact for Inpatient and Outpatient enquiries, incoming referrals and communication within both departments.
The receptionist will be required to work efficiently and autonomously in answering patient queries, arriving and departing patients, actioning requests and directing enquiries appropriately to the relevant staff member. The reception staff play a vital role in the team, ensuring a client focused approach to work practice. The role requires effective prioritising in order to manage multiple tasks within this busy environment.

What You Need
We anticipate you will have:
Experience using patient information systems such as Electronic Health Records and iPM
and ability to learn new programs as required.
• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills. Able to liaise with consumers, carers,
family members, the general community, other agencies and professionals.
• Experience in a busy, fast-paced reception or ward environment
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Experience in use of Peninsula Health’s iPM patient information system (Desirable)
