  • Be part of outpatient setting supporting those with osteoarthritis to increase their physical activity and well being
  • Fixed term 3 day per week position until 31/10/2025

  • Grade 2 to Grade 3 AHA depending on experience

What You Will Be Doing   

The Osteoarthritis Hip and Knee Service (OAHKS) Allied Health Assistant (AHA) works as an integral part of the OAHKS team alongside physiotherapists, a dietitian and psychologist. This role requires embracing a person-centred approach to provide efficient and safe patient care, working towards patients’ individualised goals. The role will involve supporting the hip knee exercise group and supervising individual exercise programs for patients with osteoarthritis. Furthermore, the OAHKS AHA will support the OAHKS clinicians with administrative processes; including, but not limited to, contacting patients, booking appointments, managing waitlists on teams, ordering stock etc. The AHA will provide supervision and mentoring to other AHA staff as appropriate and will assume teaching responsibilities for AHA students if applicable. 

 
What You Need  

We anticipate you will have:  

 

• Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance (or equivalent) 
• Experience supporting group exercise programs
• A sound understanding of scope of practice in an acute outpatient setting
• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
• Demonstrated competence with IT systems
