The Team & Role 

The Grade 3 Allied Health Assistant (AHA) provides intervention for outpatients requiring Physiotherapy services within a defined scope of practice, using a person-centred approach. The role supports group and individual exercise programs for orthopaedic outpatients and assists with inpatient care when required. The position also undertakes administrative and support functions within the physiotherapy department, including equipment maintenance, ordering, and cleaning. The role involves working across multiple settings, collaborating with the multidisciplinary team, supervising and mentoring other AHAs and AHA students, and assuming teaching responsibilities for AHA students.

Skills & Experience Required 

  • Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance (or equivalent)
  • Experience supporting group exercise programs
  • A sound understanding of scope of practice in an acute outpatient and inpatient setting
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated competence with IT systems
