On 1 January 2026 five health services (Kooweerup Regional Health Service, Peninsula Health, Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service) will come together to create Bayside Health. A newly merged health service with more than 22,000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians.
The new health service will provide people with the best possible care with services that support them throughout their lives. The merger will also strengthen our workforce, providing new training, education and career opportunities. Subject to final approval on 1 January 2026, all employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health.

What You Will Be Doing
The Occupational Therapy Allied Health Assistant is responsible for working within the acute inpatient Occupational Therapy service. The AHA assists Allied Health Professionals in the provision of best practice patient centred clinical care and further supports efficient Allied Health operations through non-clinical duties.
The AHA performs work of a general nature within the AHA scope of practice under the delegation and supervision of Allied Health Professionals (AHP).

What You Need
We anticipate you will have:
• Minimum qualification of Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance from an RTO, or equivalent (grade 2).
• Experience working in acute or sub-acute inpatient setting (student experience included).
• Demonstrated understanding of the goals and priorities of occupational therapy within a hospital setting.
• Ability to provide individual therapy and education to patients as prescribed by the occupational therapist.
• Understanding of normal development and medical conditions, as relevant to the role
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team with minimal supervision
• Willingness to learn and develop new skills through direction and feedback
• Ability to use a wide range of software applications for word processing, databases, etc.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position.
• Demonstrated problem solving and organisational skills.

*Please refer to Health and Allied Services, Managers and Administrative Workers (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2021-2025 salary circular for salary range. Sub-grading will be based on years of experience.
