The Team & Role
The Child and Adolescent Unit at Peninsula University Hospital provides high-quality, family-centred care for children and adolescents up to 16 years of age. The unit delivers care to infants from day three of life through to adolescence for a range of medical and surgical needs, including respiratory conditions, eczema, diabetes, and other acute and chronic illnesses.
Services include planned elective surgery across Orthopaedic, ENT, Plastics, and General Surgery specialties. The Peninsula Care Group also offers Paediatric Hospital in the Home services, supporting children and families to receive care safely in their own homes.
About the Role
The Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) is a valued member of the Child and Adolescent Unit leadership team and plays a key role in supporting Peninsula Care Group’s values and organisational objectives.
The ANUM works collaboratively with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) to provide effective clinical leadership and operational management of the unit. When required, the ANUM will act in the NUM role to ensure continuity of leadership.
Together with the NUM, the ANUM supports the delivery of safe, evidence-based, person- and family-centred care, fostering a positive team culture and achieving optimal health outcomes for children and their families.

Skills & Experience Required
- Registered Nurse with AHPRA registration
- Experience in a leadership or management role.
- Experience in acute paediatric care setting
- Working towards or having completed a postgraduate qualification in paediatrics and/or health management. (desirable)
