Bayside Health was formed following the merger of Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health, Gippsland Southern Health Service, Kooweerup Regional Health Service and Peninsula Health on 1 January 2026. 

The Team & Role 

Our New Peninsula University Hospital, situated in Frankston, has a Women's Health Outpatient service that has been specifically designed to provide our families with evidence-based state of the art care in a welcoming environment. This works hand in hand with our Inpatient area that is situated across one whole level of the New Tower.  
 
We have a State-of-the-Art Birth Suite including a Pregnancy Assessment Unit and Fetal Monitoring Service that our Midwifery Leaders had input in to ensure smooth workflows with both staff and families as high priority in the design.  
 
Our Special Care Nursery sits next to Birth Suite to provide a high level of collaboration and support when required. We have a separate 32 bed Maternity Ward that provides exceptional care for families pre and post birth. We currently support over 2500 families per year.  

Our MGP program is continuing to grow and has commenced a publicly funded homebirth program. We can support a range of women through their pregnancies with a model that is able to provide continuity at all risk levels.  

Currently we several positions available: 

• Permanent Part Time (64 hours per fortnight)  

• Limited Term Contract (72 hours per fortnight), Birth Suite and Maternity, Maternity Leave cover until Nov 2027 

• Limited Term Contract (64 hours per fortnight), Midwifery Group Practice, Maternity Leave cover until Oct 2027

Skills & Experience Required 

• Registered Midwife with current AHPRA Registration 

• Advanced level of Midwifery Skills and easily identified as a role model of clinical excellence 

• Current Victorian Drivers Licence 

• Current Victorian Working with Children Check
