What You Will Be Doing

The Biomedical Engineer will repair and maintain medical, surgical, diagnostic and therapeutic equipment. With an eye for detail and a passion for quality assurance, the Biomedical Engineer will perform testing of equipment, perform planning, procurement and installation tasks and analyse and design solutions to problems to improve patients' lives.

Assist other Clinical Engineering staff the Biomedical Engineer will have the responsibility to design, develop, fabricate and modify medical equipment as needed and the opportunity to mentor junior staff.

What You Need

We anticipate you will have:  

• Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Biomedical)
• Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Electrical), Applied Science or Science with major studies in electronics and biomedical instrumentation may be considered where the candidate can demonstrate suitable experience or aptitude
• Formal or informal study of human physiology
• Eligible for membership to the Engineers Australia

*Please refer to salary circular for BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERS (VICTORIAN PUBLIC SECTOR) ENTERPRISE AGREEMENT for salary range. Sub-grading will be based on years of experience.
