The Team & Role
Our Palliative Care Unit in Frankston is seeking a Clinical Nurse Consultant for a permanent part time role at 24 hours per fortnight. The Palliative Care Consultancy Team Clinical Nurse Consultants provide support for patients and team across all Peninsula Health sites. The service covers pain and other symptom management issues, end of life care, psychospiritual distress and discharge planning as well as links with community Palliative Care organisations.
The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) is a Registered Nurse responsible for clinical leadership and assisting indeveloping, maintaining and evaluating specialist programs within the Palliative Care Service. The role will also contribute towards an appropriately skilled workforce by providing mentoring and role modelling, particularly to junior nurses or recent recruits, demonstrating a high level of clinical skill and decision making and a commitment to high quality clinical care and continuous quality improvement.

Skills & Experience Required
- Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration.

Hold, or be working towards a Post Graduate Qualification in Palliative Care.

Demonstrated significant problem-solving skills that require considerable understanding and interpretation of departmental policy.

Demonstrated experience and skills in providing complex care in a Palliative Care environment
-
Demonstrated clinical leadership with proven ability to mentor and develop the nursing workforce within a coaching framework
-
Demonstrated ability to work with a high degree of professional autonomy and independent practice.
- A current unrestricted Australian drivers licence
