What You Will Be Doing
The primary objective of the Clinical Coding Trainer/Educator role is to facilitate the training of new coders. This role supports the coding team by ensuring Health Information Managers (HIMs) and Clinical Coders receive up-to-date guidance on disease and procedure classification in accordance with Commonwealth and State directives. The incumbent is responsible for providing coded patient data, participating in quality improvement activities within the coding service, and maintaining professional relationships within Peninsula Health. This position operates Monday to Friday during business hours and includes both onsite and remote responsibilities.

What You Need
We anticipate you will have:
- Bachelor of Health Information Management or equivalent
- Possess specialised knowledge in and work in an area of their profession (clinical, educational, research and/or managerial) recognised as requiring high levels of specialist knowledge
- Excellent knowledge of clinical coding principals and standards of the National Funding Model
- Understanding of Department of Health (DH) data reporting requirements, such as VAED.

*Please refer to Allied Health Professionals (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2021-2026. Sub-grading will be based on years of experience.
