The Team & Role
The Occupational Therapy Clinical Educator – Mental Health will become an integral member of the education and clinical leadership teams. This position has been funded by the Victorian Department of Health and Wellbeing to assist in the development and implementation of a new allied health graduate program aligned to the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Public Mental Health Services recommendations.
The Occupational Therapy Clinical Educator will work closely with the Senior Occupational Therapist to ensure best-practice competency-based learning, supervision and evaluation are provided to occupational therapy graduates who are employed in the Mental Health and Wellbeing occupational therapy graduate program. This role may also include delivering education and support more broadly across the organisation within a multidisciplinary education program.
The Occupational Therapy Clinical Educator is required to work competently within their scope of practice delivering and facilitating education aligned with evidence-based practice as well as hospital policy and guidelines. This position will participate in the planning, development, coordination, implementation, delivery and evaluation of education services for Peninsula Health.

Skills & Experience Required
- Occupational therapy qualification and AHPRA registration.
- Current and extensive experience working within a tertiary public mental health service.
- Prior experience in teaching or supporting learners.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable)
- Advanced qualifications related to occupational therapy practice in mental health (desirable)
- Prior experience in learning/instructional design, education program innovation, simulation etc. (desirable)
