What You Will Be Doing

The Clinical Support Nurse – Mental Health provides guidance and teaching to student and novice nurses to develop high quality clinical skills. The clinical support nurse works competently within their scope of practice delivering and facilitating education in compliance with evidence-based practice as well as hospital policy and guidelines.

The clinical support nurse predominantly works with novice cohorts (nursing students on clinical placement, graduate nurses, both RN and EEN and other less experienced team members) in the clinical environment. They work closely with both the Education Provider (EP) and the Learning Hub to ensure learners are provided with a supported and quality learning experience.

What You Need
We anticipate you will have: 

• Qualified Mental Health Nurse who is registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
• Current and extensive experience working within Mental Health Nursing

• Promote, provide and participate in clinical nursing education, support and instruction for nursing students, graduate nurses and junior team members.

• Assist learners to apply problem solving and reflective practice skills in their clinical practice.

*Please refer to salary circular for VICTORIAN PUBLIC MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES ENTERPRISE AGREEMENT 2020-2024 for salary range. Sub-grading will be based on years of experience.
