The Team & Role 

 

The Community Health Administrative Assistant is a key member of our Community Health and Ambulatory Services team, supporting the delivery of high‑quality, patient‑centred care. Working in a collaborative and fast‑paced environment, the role is often the first point of contact for clients, referrers and clinicians and plays an essential part in ensuring services run smoothly and efficiently.

 

This role provides comprehensive reception and administrative support across community health programs, coordinating patient admissions and discharges, managing appointments and records, processing fees, and organising essential support services such as transport and interpreters. Success in this role comes from strong communication skills, attention to detail, flexibility and a commitment to teamwork, continuous improvement and excellent consumer service.

Skills & Experience Required 

 

  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including a professional phone manner.
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient computer and keyboard skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of privacy, confidentiality and professional boundaries.
  • Ability to manage tasks accurately and efficiently in a busy environment
