Your Role
Peninsula Health Mental Health & Wellbeing Service (PHMHWS) is currently seeking to attract a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist into a multi-disciplinary team leadership position within its new and developing Infant, Child, and Youth (ICY) Service (0-25 years of age).
The position will work closely with the Head of Infant, Child, & Youth Psychiatry and the Clinical Director of Mental Health & Wellbeing Service to further high standards of clinical governance and leadership around Mental Health and Wellbeing Act compliance, patient flow, service quality, evidence-based care and service improvement.
The position will work closely with the relevant ICY Mental Health Manager and colleagues to ensure safe, effective, and cohesive multi- disciplinary care is delivered across the service.

About You
Key Selection Criteria
ESSENTIAL
Fellowship of the Royal Australasian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists.
Demonstrated working knowledge of the Victorian Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022.
Medical Practitioner Registered in Australia.
Relevant Specialist experience/qualification as a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist.
Relevant track record and experience in clinical management.
Sound clinical knowledge, skills and experience in contemporary medical and evidence based practice.
Ability to work as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team.
Patient safety and quality review knowledge and skills.

What You Will Do
Key Responsibilities
Provide high quality evidence based clinical care within the designated scope of practice
Support the development of the ICY to achieve its goals and objectives consistent with the strategic plan of Peninsula Health and reflecting the vision and mission statements of our organization.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement by monitoring services and practice, and taking a leadership role in policy and process development.
Lead and manage senior clinicians and junior medical staff in the mental health service to achieve optimum outcomes
Ensure patient flow and care is managed in a person centred, effective and safe manner.
Maintain high performance in recovery based care.
Be aware of and work in accordance with organisational policies and procedures
Participate in the On-Call Roster
