  • Permanent Part Time, 35 hours per fortnight 
  • Located in: Frankston, Mornington Peninsula and surrounding locations 
  • Classification: Year 1 HN16 to Year 9 HN56

Bayside Health was formed following the merger of Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health, Gippsland Southern Health Service, Kooweerup Regional Health Service and Peninsula Health on 1 January 2026. 

  

The Team & Role 

The appointee will be accredited to work across all Bayside Health Peninsula Care Group sites as a Specialist in Geriatric Medicine to practice in subacute programs including Acute Care of the Elderly, Inpatient Geriatric Evaluation and Management /At Home and Transitional Care programs (community based), providing Geriatric consultations and consulting in ambulatory clinics. 

 

The role can include regular ward rounds, attendance at multidisciplinary team meetings, supervising and educating Advanced Trainees and other junior medical staff and students and participating in unit activities utilising Clinical Support Time, you will also be required to participate in the unit's rotating roster and on-call duties.

Skills & Experience Required 

  • MBBS or equivalent degree
  • General registration as a Medical Practitioner with the AHPRA without reprimands.
  • Fellow of Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine (FAFRM).
  • Relevant track record and experience in clinical management.
  • Sound clinical knowledge, skills and experience in contemporary medical and evidence based practice.
  • Ability to work as an effective member of a multidisciplinary clinical team
  • Teaching skills
  • Patient safety and quality review knowledge and skills.
  • Thorough understanding of relevant legislation pertaining to Medical Officers
  • High level interpersonal and communication skills (Desirable)
  • Experience in the community care and aged care setting (Desirable)
  • Commitment to the Core Values and Of Peninsula Health (Desirable)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (Desirable)
  • Current Drivers Licence recognised in Australia (Desirable)
