What You Will Be Doing
The Peninsula Health “Smart Wards” project is deploying a suite of sensors and tablet devices in a subacute hospital ward. The sensor data is captured for research purposes and to deliver clinical alerts and is linked with patient data via an integration with clinical systems. The successful applicant will be responsible for developing, maintaining and refining data integration processes and systems, and delivering the next stage of the project such as, but not restricted to, characterising sensor accuracy, developing sensor signal processing tools to generate clinical alerts, and extract research relevant and ready measures from the sensor data. The sensor suite includes a Bluetooth Low Energy position system, 4D radar, nurse call buttons and environmental sensors. Tablets support enhanced communications with friends and family and will also be used in trial interventions.

What You Need
We anticipate you will have:
- Honours degree in a technical discipline, such as computer science or engineering (or equivalent industry experience)
- Experience in processing complex real-world sensor data to extract measures or features for use in decision support and research.
- Experience in signal processing/data science tools including R/python
- Azure function apps and SQL
- Databricks and Spark (desirable)

*Please refer to Health and Allied Services, Managers and Administrative Workers (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2021-2025 salary circular for salary range. Sub-grading will be based on years of experience.
