The Team & Role
The Dental Officer (DO) is a key member of the wider multidisciplinary dental team. This role has a focus on providing safe, personal, effective and connected care to members of our community. The DO role has a focus on public health, providing a range of treatment within the clinician’s scope of practice and registration. They also contribute to the smooth running of the dental operation and the delivery of quality customer service to our clients and their families
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure professional registration, radiation use licence and indemnity insurance is current.
- Ensure a high standard of clinical treatment is delivered at all times.
- Ensure up to date with current best practice.
- Ensure a high level of customer service is delivered at all times.
- Maintain a clean, safe and hygienic environment with emphasis on continual quality improvement and infection control standards.
- Perform all duties in a timely, efficient and professional manner.
- Ensure data collection and clinical treatment record is at the Australian Health Practitioner
- Regulation Agency (AHPRA), Dental Health Services Victoria (DHSV) and Peninsula Health (PH) clinical records standard.
- Ensure relevant CPD hours are maintained as per registration requirement

Skills & Experience Required
- Bachelor Dental Science or equivalent
- Registration with AHPRA (or ability to obtain)
- Radiography licence (or ability to obtain)
- Indemnity Insurance
- Provider Number
- Working With Children and Police Checks
- Good written and Verbal communication skills
- Basic computer skills including data entry
- Reliability and punctuality
