  • Classification: Grade 7 (HS7*) plus super

Bayside Health was formed following the merger of Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health, Gippsland Southern Health Service, Kooweerup Regional Health Service and Peninsula Health on 1 January 2026. 

The Team & Role 

The Deputy Director, Payroll Services - Peninsula Care Group is a senior leadership role with end-to-end accountability for payroll service delivery across the Care Group. Responsible for payroll operations, governance, compliance, and continuous improvement, the role ensures payroll outcomes are accurate, compliant, sustainable, and aligned with Bayside Health enterprise payroll strategy, systems, and governance frameworks. Working closely with operational leaders, People & Culture, Finance, and HRIS, the Deputy Director leads payroll service excellence, risk and compliance management, industrial change implementation, audit readiness, and the development of a high-performing payroll team to support workforce delivery and continuous improvement across the Care Group.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Extensive experience leading payroll services in a large, complex, highly regulated enviroment.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial instruments, legislation, and governance frameworks.
  • Demonstrated experience managing payroll risk, audits, and compliance remediation.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Finance, HR, or related field. (desirable) 

Healthcare payroll experience and SAP SuccessFactors experience will be highly regarded.
