What You Will Be Doing 

The Emergency Management Consultant provides advice and recommendations to the Executive and the Emergency Management Steering Committee on strategic direction, planning and resources required for emergency preparedness for relevant internal emergency codes (Red, Orange, Purple, Grey, Black, Blue, Yellow and Brown). This role contributes substantially to the strategic direction of the service and therefore requires the formation of strong relationships with senior management and staff of Peninsula Health.

The primary purpose of this position is the development, co-ordination, implementation and delivery of the Internal Emergency Management Program, and Dangerous Goods and Hazardous Substances Program in collaboration with management and other key stakeholders.

What You Need

 We anticipate you will have:

• Current, condition-free AHPRA Registration

• Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety/ Emergency Management or related field.

• Certificate IV in training and assessment.

• Excellent working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (2004) or as amended.

• Excellent working knowledge of AS 3745 – 2010 Planning for Emergencies in Facilities and AS 4083 -2010 Planning for Emergencies- Health Care Facilities.

• Demonstrated ability to adapt to a changing environment and demonstrate initiative within it.

*Please refer to salary circular for NURSES AND MIDWIVES (VICTORIAN PUBLIC HEALTH SECTOR) (SINGLE INTEREST EMPLOYERS) ENTERPRISE AGREEMENT 2024 - 2028 for salary range. Sub-grading will be based on years of experience.
