Bayside Health was formed following the merger of Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health, Gippsland Southern Health Service, Kooweerup Regional Health Service and Peninsula Health on 1 January 2026.
The Team & Role
• Provide high-quality medical care to patients across all areas of the emergency department, in accordance with the roster developed by the Clinical Director.
• Supervise and teach Registrars, Hospital Medical Officers, and Medical Students in the assessment, treatment, and disposition of patients.
• Proactively manage patient safety, clinical risk, quality improvement, customer relations, and infection control within your scope of care, including timely reporting of all incidents and near misses.
• Promote evidence-based practice in patient care.
• Support research activities and ensure all proposals are submitted to the Human Research Ethics Committee for approval.
• Contribute to the development and delivery of training programs for Registrars, Junior Medical Officers, Interns, and Medical Students, in collaboration with the Director of Emergency Education, Directors of Emergency Medicine Training, the Medical Workforce Unit, and the Clinical Dean.

Skills & Experience Required
• Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency
• Fellowship of Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (ACEM)
• Proven clinical skills and experience
• Experience in the education, support and supervision of junior medical staff
• Compliant Continuous Professional Development
• Working with children’s check
• Research involvement and capability
• Active involvement in Quality improvement; knowledge and participation
• Teaching experience and mentoring skills
• Paediatric Emergency experience preferred
