 On 1st January 2026, five health services (Kooweerup Regional Health Service, Peninsula Health, Alfred Health, Bass Coast and Gippsland Southern Health Service) will come together to create Bayside Health; a newly merged health service with more than 22,000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians.  

The new health service will provide people with the best possible care with services that support them throughout their lives. The merger will also strengthen our workforce, providing new training, education and career opportunities. Subject to final approval on 1st January 2026, all employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health.

 The Team & Role

Our Emergency Department is a dynamic, fast-paced environment dedicated to delivering safe, personal, effective, and connected care. We manage a diverse range of clinical presentations and pride ourselves on providing high-quality, evidence-based care.

The team is collaborative and supportive, fostering a culture of learning and professional growth. Emergency Physicians work closely with Registrars, Junior Medical Officers, nurses, and allied health professionals to ensure seamless patient care. We value open communication, respect, and teamwork, creating an environment where innovation and continuous improvement are encouraged.

Our Emergency Physicians provide high quality medical care across all areas of the Emergency Department. Temporary positions start date will be 3 March 2026 and are for 1 year.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supervising and teaching Registrars, Junior Medical Officers
  • Promoting patient safety, clinical risk management & quality improvement
  • Contributing to the development and delivery of training programs in collaboration with education and workforce teams.
  • Working across both Frankston & Rosebud Emergency departments on a 7 day rotating roster

Skills and Experience Required

 Essential Criteria

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency
  • Fellowship of the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (ACEM)
  • Proven clinical skills and experience
  • Experience in the education, support and supervision of junior medical staff
