Bayside Health was formed following the merger of Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health, Gippsland Southern Health Service, Kooweerup Regional Health Service and Peninsula Health on 1 January 2026.

The Team & Role

The Intensive Recovery Team (IRT) provides mental health services to clients and their families/carers living in the local communities of the Bayside Health – Peninsula Care Group catchment. IRT provides outreach and clinic based mental health appointments and has the capacity to provide increased frequency of support and contact. IRT delivers a flexible service to better support each client’s individual needs and to provide the best opportunity for recovery in the community.

The Community Mental Health Enrolled Nurse, as a member of this multidisciplinary team, provides psychosocial support and assertive outreach to clients in the community setting.  The Clinician works competently within their scope of practice to deliver safe, evidence based person centred care to achieve optimal health outcomes.

Skills & Experience Required

The Community Mental Health Enrolled Nurse, as a member of this multidisciplinary team, provides psychosocial support and assertive outreach to clients in the community setting.  The Clinician works competently within their scope of practice to deliver safe, evidence based person centred care to achieve optimal health outcomes.

What You Need 

We anticipate you will have:

  • Qualified and Registered, with relevant National Board
  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering high quality outcomes for consumers.
  • Demonstrated clinical knowledge and skills commensurate with experience.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge and understanding of the Victorian Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022, the National Standards for Mental Health Services 2010, the National Standards for the Mental Health Workforce 2002 and the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards including EQuIP
  • Able to use basic computer software applications.
  • Prepares written documentation using clear, concise and grammatically correct language.
  • Communicates well with and relates to consumers from a wide range of cultures and backgrounds.
  • Takes responsibility for own actions and is proactive and self-starting.
  • Extensive and recent experience in the mental health field including acute inpatient services and/or community mental health care
  • Proven ability in the management of clients with a major mental illness and psychosocial rehabilitation
  • Familiarity with the Australian Health Minister’s Mental Health Statement of Rights and responsibilities (2012) and the United Nations General Assembly Resolution on the Protection of Persons with Mental Illness and the Improvement of Mental Health Care (1991) 
  •  Working knowledge of discipline specific legislation relevant to clinical practice
  •  Compliance with other relevant legislation
  •  A current Victorian Drivers Licence
