    The Team & Role

The Psychiatric Enrolled Nurse (PEN) role within the Frankston Adult Community Mental Health Team (FACMHT) offers a rewarding opportunity to work in a modern, recovery‑oriented community setting. The role supports consumers through a combination of mental health and community‑based care, with a focus on early intervention, relapse prevention, and continuity of support. Working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, the PEN will develop specialist mental health skills within a clearly defined scope of practice, including therapeutic engagement, medication support, and psychoeducation. The position provides exposure to innovative models of care, flexible work practices, and predictable hours, making it ideal for PENs seeking professional growth, meaningful consumer relationships, and sustainable work–life balance while serving the diverse Frankston and Mornington Peninsula community.

The Frankston Adult Community Mental Health Team (FACMHT) is a specialist, multidisciplinary, and integrated service that provides care coordination through an assertive outreach model for people aged 25–64 experiencing severe and persistent mental health conditions. The team delivers a broad range of treatment, case management, care interventions, and support to consumers living within the Peninsula Health Mental Health and Wellbeing Service catchment.

The Endorsed Enrolled Nurse (EEN) is a valued and integral member of Peninsula Care Groups FACMHT multidisciplinary team, demonstrating flexibility in supporting consumers and their families across the service. The EEN practices competently within their scope of practice to deliver safe, evidence‑based, person‑centred care, contributing to optimal health and recovery outcomes.

In this role, the Endorsed Enrolled Nurse supports Community Clinicians through the provision of clinical and practical support to people living with mental illness. This includes frequent liaison and coordination with generalist services such as general practitioners, private psychiatrists, and external care agencies to ensure integrated, coordinated care.  You get to be a part of Purpose‑driven work by working in a role that focuses on recovery, Least‑restrictive care and community inclusion where every day offers the chance to help people live safer, more fulfilling lives outside of hospital settings.
