Job Description: 
  • Limited term full time until 30 January 2028 
  • Located in: Frankston, Victoria (may be required to work across all Peninsula Health sites) 
  • Classification: Pharmacist Grade 1, Year 1 - Year 6 (SW5 - SW10)* plus superannuation 

 

On 1st January 2026, five health services (Kooweerup Regional Health Service, Peninsula Health, Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service) will come together to create Bayside Health; a newly merged health service with more than 22,000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians.   

The new health service will provide people with the best possible care with services that support them throughout their lives. The merger will also strengthen our workforce, providing new training, education and career opportunities. Subject to final approval on 1st January 2026, all employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health. 

 

The Team

The Pharmacy Department at Peninsula Health operates across four campuses: Frankston, Golf Links Road, Mornington, and Rosebud, with clinical services delivered through satellite pharmacies in patient care areas. We are an innovative and forward-thinking team offering extended scope services such as Partnered Pharmacist Medicine Charting, pharmacist-initiated e-prescription transcription, and pharmacist-led clinics. Research is a key focus, supporting ongoing practice improvement. Pharmacy services are set to expand with the completion of the Frankston Hospital redevelopment.

The role

Join Australia’s only nationally accredited pharmacy residency program with Advanced Pharmacy Australia (AdPha). This two-year, structured development pathway supports early career pharmacists transitioning into hospital practice. Residents gain hands-on experience across operational, medical, surgical, and elective rotations. The program includes clinical education, assessments, quality improvement projects, and supervision opportunities. Supported by Peninsula Health’s Education Committee and dedicated clinical educators.

Skills and Experience Required 

  • Full Pharmacy Board of Australia (AHPRA) registration with no restrictions to the scope of practice, or an appropriate pharmaceutical qualification eligible for AHPRA registration
  • Member of Advanced Pharmacy Australia to participate in Residency Training Program  
  • Prior experience with using electronic medication management, preferably Cerner trained   
  • Recent hospital pharmacy experience (desirable)

*Please refer to Medical Scientists, Pharmacists and Psychologists Victorian Public Sector (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2021-2025 salary circular for salary range. Sub-grading will be based on years of experience.
