On 1st January 2026, five health services (Kooweerup Regional Health Service, Peninsula Health, Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service) will come together to create Bayside Health; a newly merged health service with more than 22,000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians.
The new health service will provide people with the best possible care with services that support them throughout their lives. The merger will also strengthen our workforce, providing new training, education and career opportunities. Subject to final approval on 1st January 2026, all employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health.
The Team & Role
The subacute speech pathology team works within multidisciplinary teams across subacute sites and in partnership with acute and community teams. The grade 1 speech pathologist provides evidence based and person centred clinical care, in partnership with the multidisciplinary team, patients and families. You will be further supported through clinical supervision and our active professional development program. You will have the opportunity to work with students (in conjunction with grade 2-3 SPs) and get involved in quality and service improvement.

Skills and Experience Required
Essential Criteria:
- Eligible for practising membership of Speech Pathology Australia
- Sound experience in the provision of best/evidence based adult related speech pathology
- Commitment to own professional development and the development of the subacute team
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven involvement in quality and service improvement activities
Desirable Criteria:
- Videofluoroscopy competency or commitment to undertaking and maintaining competency

*Please refer to Allied Health Professionals (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2021-2026 salary circular for salary range. Sub-grading will be based on years of experience.
