The Team & Role

An exciting opportunity is available for a Grade 2 Dietitian to join the Nutrition and Dietetics team at Peninsula University Hospital, with a primary focus on Intensive Care (15‑bed mixed medical/surgical ICU). This role provides 70–80% clinical caseload, working across ICU, Gastroenterology and Home Enteral Nutrition, with support from a Grade 3 Critical Care Dietitian.

 

You will deliver evidence‑based nutrition care within a dynamic multidisciplinary team, contribute to discharge planning, and support inpatient wards as required. The role also includes student supervision, with opportunities to engage in quality improvement, research and professional development.

 

This position is ideal for a Dietitian who thrives in a fast‑paced acute setting and is committed to high‑quality, patient‑centred, multidisciplinary care.

Skills & Experience Required

Essential          

  • Member or eligible for membership of Dietitians Australia
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • Recent clinical dietetic experience in an inpatient setting, with at least 3 years post-graduate experience, preferably managing patients with complex nutrition support needs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in a variety of settings
  • Monitors own performance. Takes an organised and methodical approach to the prioritisation of tasks and regularly plans and tracks progress
  • Ability to be an effective team member within the Nutrition and Dietetics department and in multidisciplinary team settings
  • Demonstrated involvement in the development and implementation of quality improvement activities
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and mentor Grade 1 Dietitians and/or students

 

Desirable

  • Previous clinical experience managing critically ill patients
