On 1st January 2026, five health services (Kooweerup Regional Health Service, Peninsula Health, Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service) will come together to create Bayside Health; a newly merged health service with more than 22,000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians.   

  

The new health service will provide people with the best possible care with services that support them throughout their lives. The merger will also strengthen our workforce, providing new training, education and career opportunities. Subject to final approval on 1st January 2026, all employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health. 

 

The Team & Role 

The Grade 3 Home Enteral Nutrition (HEN) Lead Dietitian is responsible for the leadership, continued development and provision of nutrition services within the HEN and the Dietitian Advanced Scope of Practice in Gastrostomy Tube Management programs at Peninsula Health. They also have a vital role in contributing to the development of individuals, the clinical team and the dietetic service through good leadership, teamwork and communication. The senior clinician Grade 3 Dietitian works closely with the dynamic multidisciplinary team and the Head of Nutrition and Dietetics at a professional, strategic and operational level to ensure the department delivers an efficient, effective, high quality, best practice and person-centred care service.

The position will be based at Frankston Hospital and cover at other Peninsula Health sites and home visits may be required.

Skills and Experience Required 

Member, or eligible for membership of Dietitians Australia
•    7 years clinical experience, with specialist experience of at least 3 years
•    Clinical expertise and experience managing patients with complex gastrointestinal and surgical issues requiring nutrition support  
•    Credentialed in the Dietitian Advanced Scope of Practice in Gastrostomy Tube Management is desirable 
•    Well-developed leadership, communication, problem solving, interpersonal, conflict resolution and negotiation skills
•    Advanced skills in teaching and mentoring of dietitians, students and other staff 
•    Significant knowledge and demonstrated application of program evaluation, quality improvement and research processes
•    Current Victorian Drivers Licence
