What You Will Be Doing 

The Instrument Technician Grade 2 or Grade 3 is an integral member of the Central Sterilising Service Department (C.S.S.D) and is responsible for a range of duties that contribute to the maintenance of a clean and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff. As a member of the C.S.S.D. team all staff are expected to become multi-skilled and capable of working in all areas of the department or unit.

The Instrument Technician Grade 2 or Grade 3 is accountable for the provision of all aspects in the sterilising process, in line with AS/NZ 4187, guidelines and policies of Peninsula Health. The Instrument Technician also promotes the maintenance of a safe environment, in accordance with legislative requirements and Peninsula Health Policies.

What You Need  

We anticipate you will have:  

• Certificate III in Health – Sterilizing Practice for Technicians or equivalent
• A commitment to achieving best practice.
• The ability to maintain confidentially and use discretion in all aspects of the role
• Well developed written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency to use a variety of computer programs
