The Team & Role 

The Instrument Technician Grade 2 or Grade 3 plays a key role within the Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD), supporting the reprocessing and sterilisation of surgical instruments in accordance with AS 5369 standards and Peninsula Care Group policies. This position involves participating in all stages of decontamination and sterilisation while maintaining accurate records and high standards of practice. Staff are expected to develop skills across all areas of the department and complete required competencies and mandatory training. The role supports the safe and effective delivery of sterile equipment across a range of clinical specialties. A strong focus is placed on maintaining a clean, safe environment and contributing to efficient service delivery within the unit.

Skills & Experience Required       

  • Holds certificate III in sterilisation  
  • Must be available to work all shifts including AM, PM, night duty weekends and public holidays
  • Ability to maintain confidentially and use discretion in all aspects of the role.
  • Willingness to work as part of a team
