On 1st January 2026, five health services (Kooweerup Regional Health Service, Peninsula Health, Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service) will come together to create Bayside Health; a newly merged health service with more than 22,000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians.
The new health service will provide people with the best possible care with services that support them throughout their lives. The merger will also strengthen our workforce, providing new training, education and career opportunities. Subject to final approval on 1st January 2026, all employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health.
The Team & Role
We are a Level III, 15-bed mixed medical and surgical ICU providing comprehensive critical care to a diverse and high-acuity patient population. Our unit is supported by a team of eight Intensivists, ranging from full-time to part-time appointments, who work closely with a skilled group of registrars, predominantly CICM trainees and a dedicated multidisciplinary team.
We provide 24/7 critical care liaison services and work in close collaboration with our busy Emergency Department, ensuring seamless and timely patient care from admission to recovery.

We are seeking a part-time intensivist to join our dynamic and expanding team. The successful candidate will be:
- Fellow of the College of Intensive Care Medicine
- First year Intensivist
- Track record and experience in the treatment of critically ill patients as well as development and conduct of education program
- Active involvement in managing patients receiving ECMO
- Advanced expertise in transthoracic and transoesophageal echocardiography and critical care ultrasound
- Track record of a successful education leadership in critical care setting
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team of healthcare professionals
- Strong commitment to patient care, safety, and quality improvement
- Familiarity with healthcare accreditation requirements and standards
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and quality improvement.

Skills and Experience Required
• Fellow of the Australasian College of Intensive Care Medicine
• Experience in Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation
• Critical care echocardiography and ultrasound experience
