The Team & Role
Join a dedicated Family Violence Service team committed to improving the safety and wellbeing of women and children by working directly with men who use violence. The team operates within a trauma‑informed, accountable and evidence‑based framework, grounded in the understanding that family violence is primarily gender‑based while recognising the complexity of individual life experiences, trauma and social context.
This is a pivotal role focused on the facilitation of Men’s Behaviour Change Programs (MBCP) delivered in accordance with Family Safety Victoria and No to Violence Minimum Standards. Working within a co‑facilitation model, you will support men to take responsibility for their use of violence, build insight into the impacts of their behaviour, and develop safer, non‑violent ways of relating.
In addition to group facilitation, the role involves undertaking complex assessments, providing case management, and delivering flexible, client‑centred interventions in response to assessed risk. You will work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners, including through the appropriate use of the Family Violence Information Sharing Scheme and Child Information Sharing Scheme, to support ongoing risk assessment and safety planning.
This role requires strong reflective practice, emotional intelligence and the capacity to engage in courageous conversations while maintaining accountability. You will be supported through regular debriefing, supervision, professional development and participation in continuous improvement initiatives, contributing to a high‑quality, ethical and responsive family violence service.
