On 1 January 2026 five health services (Kooweerup Regional Health Service, Peninsula Health, Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service) will come together to create Bayside Health. A newly merged health service with more than 22,000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians.  

The new health service will provide people with the best possible care with services that support them throughout their lives. The merger will also strengthen our workforce, providing new training, education and career opportunities. Subject to final approval on 1 January 2026, all employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health.

What You Will Be Doing

The Older Adult Intensive Community Assessment and Treatment Team (Older Adult ICATT) is a specialist multi-disciplinary and integrated service that provides community based assessment and short treatment interventions for older people experiencing severe and persistent mental health disorders. 

The team operates seven days a week (business hours) within the Older Adult Community Mental Health Program (OACMHP). The service provides comprehensive multidisciplinary assessment and intensive community based treatment during an acute phase of illness as an alternative to hospitalisation, as well as enabling early discharge from a hospital admission

The Older Adult ICATT delivers brief interventions and subsequent referral and integrated planning strategies to both internal Peninsula Health Mental Health Service providers and external service providers

 Position Description
 

What You Need

We anticipate you will have:

∙ Qualifications as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker or Clinical Psychologist with relevant APHRA registration RPN ONLY: Post graduate qualification in Mental Health or specialist undergraduate Mental Health program.
∙ Proven ability in the management of clients with a major mental health illness and in the techniques of assessment and crisis intervention, and recovery frameworks.
∙ Extensive experience in the mental health field including acute inpatient services and/or community mental health care

∙ Current Victorian Drivers License.

* Please refer to salary circular for VICTORIAN PUBLIC MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES ENTERPRISE AGREEMENT 2021-2024 or Medical Scientists, Pharmacists and Psychologists Enterprise Agreement 2021-25 for salary range, Sub-grading will be based on years of experience.
