Bayside Health was formed following the merger of Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health, Gippsland Southern Health Service, Kooweerup Regional Health Service and Peninsula Health on 1 January 2026.

The Team & Role

The Infant, Child and Family Team is a small, multidisciplinary team delivering high quality mental health assessments, clinical and wellbeing interventions for infants, children (0-11 years) and their families and supporters, who are experiencing complex presentations with behavioural, developmental, social and emotional difficulties that are impacting on their development and psychosocial functioning. 

The team provides a flexible, child and family friendly approach that involves assertive community treatment (outreach, clinic based and telehealth) and provides evidence informed interventions, including brief intervention, family interventions, clinical care co-ordination and secondary consultation.

This position is for an appropriately qualified mental health clinician (Psychologist, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, Psychiatric Nurse or Speech Pathologist to work part time (0.8EFT).  The clinical case manager will have experience in mental health assessments, formulation and treatment within child and youth mental health services.  This is a new and exciting opportunity for mental health clinicians with experience in child and adolescent mental health to actively participate in the establishment and expansion of the Infant, Child and Youth Service, while developing clinical mental health skills in a supportive environment.

Skills & Experience Required

  • AHPRA registration or eligible for membership of Speech Pathology Australia or the Australian Association of Social Workers 
  • Nurses will have endorsed postgraduate qualifications in Mental Health
  • Psychologists: AHPRA endorsed area of practice in Clinical Psychology or registrar in Clinical Psychology
  • Experience working with infants and children 0-11 years with significant mental health difficulties and their families and supporters, preferably in a community based setting (ie. Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services)
  • Current Victorian Driver’s License
  • Working with Children Check Experience of using outcome measures to inform practice
