The Team & Role
The Mental Health Officer is an integral member of the multidisciplinary inpatient team, providing high-quality, consumer-focused support within the Adult and Older Adult Acute Inpatient Units. The role enhances the patient experience by acting as a welcoming first point of contact for consumers, carers, and visitors, while supporting clinical staff in delivering therapeutic programs and daily unit activities. With a focus on safety, dignity, and recovery-oriented care, the Mental Health Officer contributes to a positive and therapeutic environment, assists with coordination of services and administrative tasks, and works collaboratively to ensure effective, person-centred care across the inpatient setting.

•    Understanding of the Mental Heath and Wellbeing Act 2022
•    Demonstrated passion and genuine commitment to supporting consumers experiencing mental ill health, and their carers, families, and support networks, with empathy, respect, and compassion.
