The Team & Role
We are seeking skilled, passionate, and experienced Diabetes Educators to join our Diabetes Education team in casual bank roles, offering flexibility to work across our healthcare network.
As a Diabetes Educator, you will practise as an advanced clinician, delivering expert advice, education, and clinical support to improve outcomes for consumers across Peninsula Care Group. Working within the Bayside Health Clinical Governance Framework and aligned with ADEA standards, you will demonstrate a high level of clinical expertise and a strong commitment to consumer-centred, evidence-based care.
This role has a strong focus on health promotion and disease prevention, providing specialist consultancy, clinical management, and education across the full spectrum of diabetes care, including paediatrics, type 1 and type 2 diabetes, and diabetes in pregnancy. You will deliver care across inpatient and outpatient settings, supported by telephone consultation, and maintain contemporary practice through engagement with emerging technologies and advancements in diabetes management.
As a senior clinician, you will act as a key resource for nursing staff, supporting assessment, planning, and evaluation of care, while promoting continuity and best practice. You will demonstrate strong leadership through example—guiding staff, supporting change initiatives, and contributing to a positive, flexible, and collaborative team culture. The role includes close collaboration with the endocrinology and multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.
You will also contribute to quality improvement activities and clinical research, supporting ongoing service development and improved patient outcomes, while ensuring practice aligns with relevant legislation, guidelines, and ADEA standards.
