What You Will Be Doing
The Manager is a valued member of the leadership team at Peninsula Health, committed to upholding Peninsula Health’s values and meeting organisational goals. The Peninsula Health Mental Health Service (PHMHS) Psychiatric Assessment and Planning Unit (PAPU) Manager and Patient Bed Flow Coordinator is an integral part of the leadership team committed to upholding Peninsula Health’s values and meeting organisational goals.
The Manager will have primary responsibility for the leadership of PHMHS staff working in PAPU, implementing operational requirements of the service and the overall delivery of clinical services to the clients of PAPU. The Manager is responsible for management and allocation of Mental Health beds during business hours.
The Manager provides leadership to and is responsible for accountability for the overall operation and clinical management including budgets, targets and Key Performance indicators for PAPU.
The Manager is responsible for the management of all Peninsula Health human resources within PAPU.
This position description along with the Functional Brief and Operational Manual outlines the overall scope and operational clarity for each service type and individual staff member’s responsibilities. The Manager is required to read all of these supporting documents to ensure an understanding of each team’s scope along with each team’s contribution to the overall PHMHS model of care.

What You Need
We anticipate you will have:
- Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration
- Completion of Mental Health Post Graduate Qualification
- Extensive experience in the mental health field including inpatient services and/or community mental health care
- Experience in a leadership or management role
- Advanced leadership skills and demonstrated ability to lead in complex environments
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the principles of Recovery Orientated practice in Mental Health Care
- Demonstrated working knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and standards

*Please refer to Medical Scientists, Pharmacists and Psychologists Victorian Public Sector (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2021-2025 salary circular for salary range.
