What You Will Be Doing

The Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) is a valued member of the leadership team at Peninsula Health, committed to upholding Peninsula Health’s values and meeting organisational goals.

The NUM is instrumental in the planning process and the effective allocation of resources for- Older Adult Acute Inpatient Unit and ECT. They are responsible for leading and managing a diverse team ensuring that their staff deliver safe, evidence based, person-centred care to achieve a high standard of quality patient outcomes.

This is an exciting time to be joining Peninsula Health with the opening on the new Frankston Hospital in 2026. The NUM will be responsible for leadership of the relocation and establishment of the new older adult acute ward and ECT service in the new hospital facility.

The NUM leads and coordinates quality improvement and accreditation, coordinates patient flow processes and facilitates service reviews in the areas of incidents, restrictive interventions, readmissions and long stay patients. The NUM provides leadership and is responsible for the management of all human resources in 1 West and ECT The NUM is also accountable for the overall operation and clinical management including budgets, targets and key performance indicators.

What You Need

We anticipate you will have:

  • Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration
  • Post graduate qualification in mental health or completion of a specialist undergraduate psychiatric / mental health-nursing program
  • Experience in a leadership or management role
  • Minimum 5 years’ mental health experience

*Please refer to Victorian Public Mental Health Services Enterprise Agreement 2020-2024 salary circular for salary range. Sub-grading will be based on years of experience. It is strongly recommended that individuals in this role remain up to date with their COVID-19 vaccinations.
