The Team & Role

Every Peninsula Care Group nurse must practice in accordance with the Credentialing and Scope of Practice Framework. The Framework defines the elements of nursing practice that improve the care and experience of our patients

The Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) is a professional and clinical leader and is a valued member of the Radiology leadership team, The NUM operationalises the core values of nursing at Peninsula Care Group by ensuring a safe and supportive environment for patients and staff. The NUM provides advanced nursing and clinical leadership in proactively managing and coordinating clinical practice and the provision of human, financial and material resources in accordance with organisational goals, ensuring a cost effective nursing service focused on providing exceptional, evidence based patient centered care

The Radiology NUM will provide leadership, operational management, and professional direction to the Radiology nursing team across inpatient and outpatient services at Peninsula University Hospital and Rosebud Hospital. The NUM will deliver and oversee specialist clinical nursing care across all radiology modalities and sites, ensuring the provision of safe, high-quality, patient-centred care. Working collaboratively with modality leads, area supervisors, and multidisciplinary teams, the NUM will coordinate nursing resources and clinical activities to meet service demands and modality-specific requirements, while supporting workforce development, service improvement, and operational efficiency across the radiology service.

Skills & Experience Required

Essential     

  • Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration
  • Demonstrated performance in a nursing leadership or management role within the Radiology sector
  • Supports individuals and the team, delegating responsibilities appropriately
  • Identifies and responds appropriately to organisational directives
  • Clearly and confidently communicates with key contacts and welcomes constructive feedback
  • Accepts responsibilities for own actions
  • Seeks all relevant information for problem solving
  • Identifies and supports, where necessary, the need for change
  • Prepares written documentation using clear, concise and grammatically correct language
  • Uses a range of software application features for word processing, spread sheets etc.
  • Demonstrated contribution towards organisation accreditation processes.


Desirable      

  • Working towards or having completed a post graduate, or equivalent, qualification in health management
